Friday 17th January-A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (Spoilers)
I like this one MORE Then the 1st Nightmare On Elm Street there I said it! Not too many sequels surpass the first and those that do are remembered. Let's explore what I love about the best sequel in this Legendary Franchise.
On this night it was the fist time that I've watched this in years and seeing that Edgar Allen Poe quote come up on screen started bringing it all back. Within the first 5 mins of the movie I'm asking 'what's the song called' ( the one Kristen blasts in her room to stay awake) I'm asking for real as I can't find it on YouTube...HELP! Kristen Parker (Patricia Arquette) is sent to a youth mental institution where she Is joined by a group of teenagers who have all previously attempted suicide (something about having bad dreams) and are put in there to be treated and watched by the doctors and medical staff (Poorly Lol). Then Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp) returns to the franchise to try and save the last of the elm street children....it doesn't go so well at 1st...

After The Infamous Puppet and TV Freddy kills, Nancy encourages Kristen to help the teens with her special ability where she can bring other people into her dreams and they can have special powers too, This was an amazing idea which isn't explored enough in the Nightmare series...but the scene where they 1st start using Their powers was pretty awesome. But unfortunately not even their powers ( or Laurence 'Morpheus' Fishburne ) could save some of these kids from Freddy's wrath. While all this is going on Dr Neil Gordon (Craig Wasson) is being guided into Freddy's Origin by a mysterious nun with a dark secret of her own. Eventually Gordon is assisted reluctantly by Nancy's father (John Saxon) who figure out a way of destroying Freddy which includes A fight scene with a very well animated Skeleton Freddy. The creature designs in this movie are fantastic especially Snake Freddy. The soundtrack it great, both acoustic and band, Just need to find the songs. The special effects like the door that appears in the middle of the room to the 'Come and get him bitch' message on Joey's check we're impressive too. Patricia Arquette has such a Loud scream in this movie...am I the only one who notices this Lol.
5/5 I stand by what I said earlier...My fave of the series.
Would love to get your thoughts on Nightmare Part 3
