Tuesday 21st January-Dawn Of The Dead (2004) Spoiler Free.
When I first heard about this iconic zombie movie being remade I was in uproar as horror remakes in my opinion between 2002-2004 were mostly terrible...I even read an article in Empire magazine on this movie but I still was not convinced enough to make the 2 hour bus journey to Dublin to see it...I was living in Ireland at The time. Then the Monday it came out I get a call from my best friend in England telling me how much he Loved it....I was on the next bus to Dublin to witness one of the best horror remakes of ALL TIME!
Ana (Sarah Polley) is a doctor finishes the night shift at the hospital, goes home and after a few hours sleep pretty much wakes up in hell, Zombies are everywhere and eating victims left and right, She flees, Eventually meets up with some survivors who then find refuge at a local giant shopping mall. There they regroup and after a while devise a plan to get out of the mall and away from the zombies surrounding it. It shoes what some people are willing to do to survive, This is arguably the best movie Zack 'Watchmen' Snyder has ever directed, James Gunn writes a fantastic screenplay, The violence and gore in this movie never and I repeat NEVER hold back and the song choices are possibly the best ever for any horror movie ever. This certainly came out at the right time, I didn't see any trailers for this which in my mind was a good thing as I had no idea what to expect, It certainly didn't disappoint, It certainly rivals the original and in time could be called the best Zonbie movie of all-time...In my opinion that is.....HIGHLY Recommended
5/5 Best Zombie Horror Remake..Zack Snyder arguably at his best.
