Sunday 19th January-A Nightmare On Elm Street Part 5: The Dream Child (1989) Spoilers
Watching all The Nightmare On Elm Street movies means exactly that....Even the ones that you know SUCK!
Directed by Stephen Hopkins, Alice returns from The Dream Master...and Expecting. Alice has a nightmare that focuses on the asylum where Amanda Kruger was locked in one summer and was raped by all 100 of the maniacs inside, Freddy returns but fears Amanda Kruger as she is a key figure in this movie. Alice is later informed that she is pregnant, but she is worried that Freddy is after her unborn child. She tries to warn her friends because Freddy is once again using her gifts against her only to turn her unborn child evil by killing her friends, some listen...some don't....we all know where it goes from here.
Freddy then has his fun by taking out some of Alice's friends in some very creative ways, Freddy knows that in the end he can't hurt Alice as she is a key to hurt those around her so turning her child evil is one of many ways he intends to torment her.

Her behaviour gets the attention of the wrong people and some even threaten to take the child from Alice, Her friends eventually stand with her to try and stop Freddy from destroying Alice's child and everyone around her.
This is not a great sequel, It has it's little moments like Rob Englund's 'Fred Kruger' cameo in the asylum and Super-Freddy (I wonder if there is an action figure for that...Must check EBay) The motorbike scene was pretty awesome....To be honest the deaths weren't that impressive and like Part 2 the body count was pretty low, The costumes for Freddy were great. I am a huge fan of the Nightmare On Elm Street Movies but I thought this whole movie was pointless.
1/5 Lazy and pointless Sequel
