Wednesday 8th January-The Cabin In The Woods (2012)
I had a lot of high expectations going into this movie..and I certainly was not disappointed.
It's like any traditional horror story, A group of friends decide to spend the weekend at a cabin in the woods in the middle of nowhere where they are terrorised by monsters...only this movie has a bizarre and clever twist that pays homage to the very aspect of horror.

However many who have seen this say they find it difficult to take horror seriously and In some ways I agree with them. Written by Drew Goddard (Cloverfield) and Joss Whedon (The Avengers, Creator of Buffy The vampire Slayer) . The cast was very well assembled including Thor himself Chris Hemsworth but Fran Kranz was the standout performance for me as Marty, Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford were a very amusing double act and I was very pleased to see Amy Acker in a Lab Jacket again (Go Fred!....Those Buffy/Angel fans know what I mean) I haven't been too informative of the plot of this movie in this review cause to do so would spoil the surprises that await those who have yet to watch this. I was very impressed with the direction this movie went, I highly recommend 'The Cabin In The Woods'
4.5/5 The 1st and hopefully not the last from the Goddard/Whedon Dream-Team
