Thursday 16th January-A Nightmare On Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985) Spoilers
Well there are some horror sequels that surpass the original...This is NOT one of them. Especially considering how great the first nightmare on Elm street was.
Directed by Jack Sholder. This follows Jessie Walsh who has just moved into the very house where Nance Thompson lived when she was tormented by Freddy (Jessie's dad of course 'Forgets' to tell anyone this small detail) Jessie makes friends with Ron Grady who are both hassled at school by coach Schneider. The heating in Jessie's house is out of control...but that's not the only thing that's bothering Jessie.

Freddy Krueger is tormenting him in his dreams but with purpose, Freddy wants Jessie to kill for him so that he can find a way back in to the real world and continue his reign of terror. Jessie is supported by he's friends including Lisa Webber (Kim Myers) who eventually falls for Jessie. Eventually Freddy does get out and causes chaos at a pool party, A scene which I quite liked, especially when Freddy looks upon the frightened crowd of teenagers with the fire in the background and says 'You are all my children now'...This does have a pretty lame climax with Jessie holding on to his humanity with a little help from Lisa.
I did like the scene at the beginning with the bus in the desert, Did you guys notice Robert Englund as the bus driver before Freddy takes the wheel, Plus the effects when Freddy was coming out of Jessie's body was pretty cool too, But this was a terrible sequel to a movie that is so iconic in horror. I thought the body count could've been a lot bigger. The deaths were a bit lame too.
1.5/5 Quite possibly the worst horror sequel ever!
What horror sequels did you think we're terrible..Let me know :)
