Friday 24th January-House Of 1000 Corpses (2003) Spoiler Free
Rob Zombies MASTERPIECE...I remember so many people talking about this movie before I had the chance to watch it myself..I had to check it out.
Written & Directed by Rock Legend Rob Zombie, It follows a group of young adults on a road trip when they stop by Captain Spaulding's Novelty Shop Of Madness to get some gas when they go on an attraction called 'The Murder Ride'. There they learn of the legend of Dr Satan who was hanged on a tree that was a short drive from the novelty store...so they go looking for The Tree, during the journey they pick up a seemingly odd lady and their car 'Breaks Down' the odd lady brings the group back to her house where they are greeted by her family which included Tiny, Mother Firefly, Grandpa Hugo and Otis who welcome them into the house with dinner and a show. But just as the group are about to leave with their fixed car the family turn On them viciously and the group are then held within the house where they are tortured and terrorised by the family which lead to a ritual on Halloween Night.

This will be remembered in many years as a Cult Horror Classic, There are so many great performances from the likes of Sid Haig Sherry Moon Zombie and the late great Karen Black...but Bill Moseley for me was the star of this show, his lines were very well scripted and he said them with such meaning and conviction, Great Performance. The soundtrack is very good, A lot of old songs that I've never heard previously, plus I enjoyed the references to the classic Black and White horrors that influenced Rob Zombies style of music and filmmaking in the first place. The violence is good and I just love the insanity of these people...so stylish.
5/5 A Cult Masterpiece.
